About This Role
The Director of Nurse Education is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of all nursing educational programs within the healthcare setting. This role is ideal for experienced nursing professionals who are passionate about advancing nursing education and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
Highlights- Pay: $175,000 - $190,000/year
- Location: New York, NY
- Facility: NYC Health + Hospitals/Coler
- Department/Unit: NURSING INSERVICE EDUCATION
- Schedule: Full-Time, Day (9:00 A.M – 5:00 P.M)
- Plan and direct the administration of all nursing educational programs and activities.
- Direct continual assessment of nursing educational needs and competency assessment of nursing staff.
- Monitor and evaluate nursing in-service trainings and orientations to ensure compliance with national Patient Safety Goals.
- Manage the identification and implementation of evidence-based methodologies and best practices.
- Direct program evaluations that measure learning impact and outcomes against strategic goals.
- Establish and monitor adherence to policies, practices, and performance standards for nursing education.
- Plan and direct in-service education for new equipment, products, and processes.
- Serve on nursing and healthcare setting committees and participate in interdisciplinary meetings.
- Provide oversight for educational academic affiliations and community outreach projects.
- Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education programs.
Licenses &
Certifications:
- Valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related field required

- Three (3) years of experience providing nursing education and training required
