Director of Nursing (DON)
Elevated Hires is recruiting a Director of Nursing (DON) for an opportunity in healthcare technology. This role is designed for an experienced professional who can deliver high-quality work, collaborate across teams, and turn complex requirements into practical results. The position is based in Queens, the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the daily operations and clinical management of the nursing department.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable federal, CMS, and the organization State Department of Health (DOH) regulations.
- Provide direct clinical leadership, supervision, mentoring, and support to all nursing department staff.
- Maintain continuous facility readiness for state, federal, and regulatory surveys and inspections.
- Manage department staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage and oversee ongoing clinical staff competencies.
- Develop, review, and implement evidence-based nursing policies, clinical procedures, and operational best practices.
- Active leader in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program and quality initiatives.
- Conduct regular clinical rounds to monitor resident care delivery, clinical outcomes, and staff performance.
- Address and resolve staff concerns, clinical complaints, and grievances in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaborate closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary team to foster a positive, high-performing care environment.
- Licensure:
Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of the organization required. - Leadership
Experience:
Previous Director of Nursing (DON) or senior nursing leadership experience in a long-term care setting required. - Clinical
Experience:
Extensive background and clinical experience in skilled nursing and long-term care environments required. - Regulatory Expertise:
Strong, in-depth knowledge of the organization State DOH regulations, CMS requirements, and survey processes. - Technical Proficiency:
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with Sigma Care EMR is strongly preferred. - Core Competencies:
Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational efficiency, and high professional standards.
