The Head Nurse - Mother/Baby position involves directing the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing regimens for patients within the Pediatric Inpatient Unit.   Full-Time, Day shift (7:00 A.M. – 3:30 P.M.)

• Direct the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing regimens for patients.
• Schedule, assign, guide, and instruct nursing personnel in nursing activities.
• Identify and discriminate between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
• Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate nursing regimens for assigned patients.
• Record and maintain nursing care plans and progress notes for continuity of care.
• Interpret and report patient responses to appropriate health team members.
• Participate in planning comprehensive patient care programs with interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide teaching, guidance, and direction to allied nursing personnel.
• Participate in defining and maintaining standards of nursing practice.
• Conduct conferences to develop nursing care plans and promote staff development.

• Experience:
  
  2+ years of experience as a Head Nurse preferred.

  Current RN License in New York State.

  BLS certification required.

• Annual education differential based on degree:
  • Bachelors in allied health discipline = $900
  • Masters in allied health discipline = $1,200
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) = $1,800
  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) = $2,000
  • Doctorate in Education, Nursing Practice or PhD in Nursing (DNP) = $2,500
• Annual certification differential ranging from $1,878 up to $4,878 for recognized certifications.
• Annual nursing experience differential ranging from $1,042 up to $8,645 for up to 10 years of experience.
