About This Role

The Offsite Registered Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent, quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others.

• Assist in development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of care and professional practice.
• Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
• Provide direct, continuous care for a specific caseload of patients.
• Coordinate patient care activities, including teaching, rounding, counseling, and discharge planning.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with patients and healthcare team members.
• Participate in performance improvement, nursing quality, and nursing research activities.
• Collaborate with members of the healthcare team to plan and implement patient care.
• Maintain clinical competence and be responsible for own professional growth and development.
• Support the mission, philosophy, standards, and objectives of the institution and department.
• Treat co-workers, patients, and families with dignity and respect.

Education:

• Bachelor of Science with a major in Nursing required;
  Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing considered if hired prior to January 1995.

Experience:

• Relevant clinical competence in area of nursing practice; new graduates must possess current knowledge of the nursing process.

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Current RN License in New York State
• Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card
• Basic Life Saver (BLS) certification required
