The Nursing Professional Development Specialist, Per Diem, plays a crucial role in assessing and analyzing learning needs for nursing staff, planning and implementing educational activities, and maintaining clinical expertise in a specialty area. This position is ideal for those who are passionate about nursing education and fostering collaborative relationships within healthcare teams.

• Pay: $69.33 - $75.00 Hourly
• Location: New York, NY
• Facility: NYU Langone Hospitals
• Schedule: Per Diem, Day shift

• Assess and analyze learning needs for nursing staff throughout the Departments of Nursing.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities that support nursing care.
• Participate in the development and implementation of nursing and patient care standards.
• Maintain clinical expertise in a specialty area.
• Foster collaborative relationships within the Departments of Nursing and other disciplines.
• Evaluate the performance and assess practice of designated personnel.
• Serve as a role model and resource for staff.
• Ensure education programs are executed according to established processes and guidelines.
• Collaborate with patient care unit leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Identify and address learning needs of nursing staff in assigned clinical areas.

• Education:
  • Master's degree in nursing education required
• Experience:
  • 3-5 years of clinical experience in a specialty area or combination of staff nurse/leadership experience

  • Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in New York State
  • Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
  • Certification in Nursing Education required upon eligibility
