About This Role
The Assistant Nurse Manager - Medicine (16W) at NYU Langone Health provides clinical leadership and management for a patient care unit, ensuring excellence in patient service and staff development while applying evidence-based practices.

- Schedule: Full-Time, Evening shift

- Collaborate with the nurse manager on interviews and ensure proper onboarding and evaluation of employees.
- Evaluate performance and assess practice of designated personnel fairly.
- Serve as a role model and resource for staff, promoting professional growth and development.
- Monitor staff attendance and ensure appropriate staffing for optimal patient outcomes.
- Coordinate care delivery and staff assignments based on patient care needs.
- Assist in scheduling, payroll, and integrating services across the care continuum.
- Provide direct patient care as needed to support clinical operations.
- Communicate significant patient care issues and concerns to leadership in a timely manner.
- Participate in drafting nursing and organizational policy, engaging front-line staff.
- Support data collection and analyze data to drive practice changes for quality and safety.
- Assist leadership in maintaining licenses, certifications, and mandated learnings for unit staff.
- Foster high reliability concepts within the unit.
- Participate in nursing research, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice efforts.
- Education:
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required
- Experience:
- 2 years of experience required
- Clinical certification in the patient population served or nurse leader certification preferred
- Licenses &
Certifications:- Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in New York State
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association required
