Licensed Practical Nurse; LPN; Upper East Side

• The Licensed Practical Nurse position is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients.

• Obtains, verifies and records health history of patients.
• Prepares equipment to efficiently draw blood.
• Monitors inventory of medical supplies and orders when necessary.
• Reports malfunctioning machinery to Administration.

• Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials and communicating physician advice and/or instructions.

• Provides physician support by checking height.
• Provides basic patient care by administering medications.
• Assists other healthcare professionals in performing exams.
• Follows established procedures for infection control.

• Organizes patient flow and accompanies patient to exam room.
• Sets up and cleans exam room before, between and after patient visits.
• Performs other job-related duties as required.

• Education, Training, Licenses, Certifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of NYS approved Practical Nursing program.
  • Current New York State Licensed Practical Nurse License
• Relevant Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Minimum of one year experience required as of 2009.

• Hiring Range: $29.87 per hour
