Job Description:Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Bilingual English/Russian (Preferred)
Location:
Brooklyn, NY
Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hour shifts, Mon-Fri between 8:30am-5:30pm
Organization:
New York Health (NYH)
- Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up-to-date vital signs, patient demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and medical diagnoses
- Manage Physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks assigned via the electronic medical record
- Assist in maintaining the medical inventory; place orders for new materials and stock rooms to ensure adequate supplies for physician staff
- Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
- Escort patients to exam rooms
- Provide patient education concerning medications, management of diseases, home treatments, and special diets
- Assist physician with exams and/or procedures
- Prepare and administer injections
- Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens
- Perform point of care lab testing
- Perform EKGs
- Administer and document medication under a physician’s order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduce the potential for medical error
- Be cross-trained in infusion & intake
- Current NYS LPN license required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
- IV Competency required
- Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals
- Experience with EMR’s
- Reliable transportation to any of NYH locations for patient care needs
- Bilingual English/Russian (Preferred)
- Salary:
Starting at $36/hr - Benefits:
