About This Role
The Director of Nursing at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi is responsible for organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating nursing services and education programs within the facility. This role is ideal for experienced nursing leaders who can exercise independent initiative and judgment.
Highlights- Pay: $180,000 - $225,000/year

- Schedule:
Full-Time, 7:00 A.M – 3:30 P.M
- Develop, establish, and implement the philosophy, objectives, policies, and standards of the Nursing Department.
- Organize the Nursing Department to delineate authority, functional responsibilities, and lines of communication.
- Coordinate functions of nursing services with other disciplines and collaborate with administrative staff.
- Determine staffing requirements in relation to patient care standards and develop procedures to maintain adequate nursing staff.
- Maintain a system of continuing evaluation of nursing service provided for patients.
- Maintain up-to-date policy procedure manuals for all nursing units and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Establish an effective system of clinical and administrative nursing records and reports.
- Direct the preparation of the personnel, equipment, and supply budgets for the Nursing Department.
- Direct the development and implementation of orientation, training, and continuing education programs for nursing personnel.
- Initiate and participate in studies and research projects to improve patient care and administrative services.
Education:
- Master's Degree in Nursing Administration or an equivalent field required
- Minimum of four years of high-level responsible experience in nursing administration, three years of which shall have been in a hospital
Certifications:
- Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State
NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi is a 457-bed teaching hospital affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The facility has earned numerous Center of Excellence designations and is recognized for its Level 1 Trauma Center, Burn Center, and various specialized services.
