About This Role

The Senior Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who participates in performance improvement strategies to enhance patient experience and serves as a resource for nursing staff in delivering quality care based on nursing theory and approved standards.

• Act as a clinical leader to support daily unit functioning on a shift basis.
• Deliver patient care by applying the nursing process based on theory and evidence-based practice.
• Assess and evaluate patient care needs using critical thinking skills.
• Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills for nursing care delivery.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in developing and evaluating care plans.
• Coordinate and prioritize all aspects of patient care, including teaching and planning after hospital care.
• Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care and health promotion.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing.
• Role model the tenets of Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required;
  Master's preferred

• Relevant clinical competence in area of nursing practice assigned

• Current RN License in New York
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification (Labor and Delivery, NICU)
• ACLS certification (various departments)
• PALS certification (various departments)
