Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner

- Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants
- Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners
2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience required Minimum 18 months experience in applicable practice setting required Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications- National Certification
- Active state medical licensure
Skills and Abilities
Required
Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, etc.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities PreferredKnowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills Strong communication and customer service skills
Essential FunctionsEssential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives. - Examining and treating patients
- Taking patients’ medical histories
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays
- Making diagnoses and prescribing medications
- Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
- Recording progress notes for follow-up patients
- Educating and counseling patients
- Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients
- Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care
- Each provider will work an anticipated four (4), eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift which will be assigned by an authorized representative of GoHealth Urgent Care
