Rocky Point Animal Hospital is a growing and busy veterinary clinic dedicated to providing exceptional care to pets in Rocky Point, NY and the surrounding communities. Our experienced team is passionate about delivering high‑quality medicine with compassion and personalized care. In addition to dogs and cats, we also care for a variety of exotic species, including birds, reptiles, pocket pets, and even fish.

We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, and motivated veterinary assistant to join our team full‑time. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment where patient care, teamwork, and client education are top priorities.

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, treatments, and procedures
• Safely restrain patients for exams, diagnostics, and treatments
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas
• Assist with patient intake, obtaining histories, and documenting medical information
• Support surgical procedures by preparing patients, maintaining sterile supplies, and assisting with recovery
• Collect and process laboratory samples as directed
• Administer medications and treatments under veterinary supervision, as permitted
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain hospital equipment and work areas
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Educate pet owners on basic pet care, nutrition, medications, and preventive health
• Provide compassionate care to patients and excellent service to clients

• Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred
• General practice experience is a plus
• Experience with Impromed and/or IDEXX laboratory equipment is preferred but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
• Compassionate, patient‑focused attitude
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to lift and restrain animals safely
• Flexibility to work Saturdays as part of the rotation
