The Associate Veterinarian is a full-time, on-site role based in Dover Plains, NY. This position provides comprehensive medical care to companion animals, including performing physical examinations, diagnosing conditions, developing treatment plans, and conducting routine and complex procedures. Daily responsibilities include client communication, counseling on preventive care and nutrition, prescribing medications, interpreting diagnostic tests, and maintaining accurate medical records. The Associate Veterinarian collaborates with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure high-quality, compassionate care, and participates in case discussions, continuing education, and clinic-wide initiatives to improve workflows and patient outcomes.

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited institution and eligibility for New York veterinary licensure.
• Demonstrated clinical skills in small-animal medicine, surgery, and dentistry, including preventive care, diagnostics, and treatment planning.
• Strong client-facing skills, including clear communication, education on care plans, and the ability to build trust with diverse pet-owning populations.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a veterinary team, support technicians and assistants, and contribute to a respectful, inclusive workplace.
• Solid organizational and recordkeeping abilities, with attention to detail in medical documentation, follow-up, and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Commitment to continuing education, evidence-based practice, and staying current with advances in veterinary medicine and animal welfare.
• Experience in a general practice or clinical setting is preferred; interest or background in research or data-driven care is a plus.
• Comfort with handling animals in a safe, low-stress manner and navigating emotionally sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
