Are you a Veterinary Technician looking to contribute to innovative biomedical research and make a meaningful impact on global health?

Proclinical is seeking a Veterinary Technician to support a multidisciplinary research team conducting preclinical studies involving research animals, including rodents, rabbits, and non-human primates.

The successful candidate will perform a range of animal procedures including anaesthesia administration and monitoring, compound administration, specimen collection, health observations, and medical record maintenance. This role will support the development and evaluation of novel biological products and therapies while working under established biosafety containment conditions and adhering to applicable safety procedures and institutional requirements.

  The Veterinary Technician's responsibilities will be:
  • Conduct animal research activities, including vaccinations, specimen collection, surgical procedures where appropriate, anaesthesia monitoring, animal health observations, and maintenance of medical records.
  • Prepare for animal studies by organising supplies, dosing materials, animal orders, and formulation support for research materials.
  • Work under BSL-2 containment conditions when handling research materials, infectious agents, and biological specimens, following all applicable biosafety procedures.
  • Administer veterinary medications and perform animal procedures using various methods in accordance with approved study protocols and veterinary guidance.
  • Support the health and welfare of research animals through enrichment activities, monitoring treatment progress, behavioural observations, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Manage databases for animal medical records, study protocols, and study data.
  • Process tissue specimens for downstream analysis.
  • Perform laboratory operational duties, including inventory management, ordering supplies and reagents, maintaining safe working conditions, and ensuring proper disposal of chemical and biohazardous waste.
  • Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely research documentation.
  Compensation:
  • $20.00 - $28.00/Hour
