Veterinary Technician; Licensed​/Registered​/Certified

The Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) delivers compassionate nursing care and has a broad knowledge of animal science, medicine, and husbandry, including a basic knowledge of pharmacology, shelter medicine, behavior, and proficient mathematical skills.

The LVT is responsible for a broad range of medical and administrative tasks in the ARC that serves animals admitted through the NYPD Partnership program.

One of the most critical functions of this role is serving as a member of a team of medical, behavior and sheltering operations personnel, all dedicated to working together to provide holistic care for victims of cruelty and neglect.

The ARC (Animal Recovery Center) facility is dedicated to the recovery and rehabilitation of victims of cruelty and neglect admitted through NYPD and the ASPCA's Humane Law Enforcement (HLE) and Community Engagement (CE) programs.

Our dedicated team of more than 45 sheltering, medical, and animal behavior professionals work closely with the ASPCA Animal Hospital, Forensics, Legal Advocacy and Investigations, Behavioral Sciences, Shelter Medicine Services, Community Engagement, Placement, and the Adoption Center teams to ensure coordinated response and operations, and holistic, balanced, high quality care for the animals we serve.

The Licensed Veterinary Technician reports directly to the Senior Director of Veterinary Services and has no direct reports.

This position is an on-site role and reports to the 92nd Street ASPCA location.

• This is a full-time position. Weekends may be required. Position may require occasional flexibility and occasional overtime.

Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to education, training, experience, location, business needs, internal equity, market demands or budgeted amount for the role. The target hiring range is for new hire offers only, and staff compensation may increase beyond the maximum hiring range based on performance over time. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience.

The expected hiring salary range for this role is set forth below and may be modified in the future.

The target hiring range for this role is $34.60 - $40.00 per hour.

Additionally, this position is eligible for a $2,000 signing bonus and a $2,000 retention bonus after one year of service.
