What do our Food Safety Specialists do?
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct assessments that measure conformity to established regulatory, industry, and proprietary brand standards for clients.
- Observe food preparation and cooking standards to ensure food safety, health, and sanitation practices.
- Partner with clients to address root causes of assessment discrepancies and develop corrective action plans.
- Teach and coach clients how to make their workplace a safer and healthier environment for themselves and their customers.
- Travel 50%-70%, or 8-10 days per month, including some evening and weekend work.
Job Duties
- Conducting audits and inspections.
- Implementing and monitoring food safety training and educating staff.
- Investigating food safety incidents.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Maintaining documentation and records.
- Providing clear and constructive feedback in a positive manner.
- Influencing others with tact and skill.
- Organizing and prioritizing work based on urgency and efficiency.
- Working autonomously and on a flexible schedule.
- Having strong technical knowledge of food safety is preferred.
- Meet the requirements to obtain a CP‑FS certification.
- Sr iply to work Monday‑Friday and Saturdays and evenings as required.
- Possess a valid driver’s license from the state of residence.
- Hold licenses or certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations (covered by us). Serv Safe and/or CP‑FS certification(s) is a plus.
- Have strong knowledge of food safety.
- Have excellent listening, organization, communication, and time management skills.
Hourly: $18.00 - $25.00. While starting pay falls within this range, it can vary based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. Total earnings may also be affected by overtime, incentives, commissions, performance, and route assignment (where applicable).
