Why This Role MattersAs a Managing Consultant, Health & Safety, you will help organizations navigate evolving health and safety risks while strengthening the systems, culture, and leadership needed to achieve long‑term performance improvement. Your work will directly support safer workplaces, regulatory confidence, and operational resilience—locally, nationally, and globally.
What Your Impact Is- Lead the design and delivery of innovative health and safety programs that align with client business objectives
- Influence safety culture through coaching, training, and data‑driven insights
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients facing complex technical, regulatory, and operational challenges
- Mentor and support project teams while helping grow ERM’s Health & Safety practice in the Northeastern US
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline
- 4+ years of relevant health and safety consulting or industry experience
- Strong understanding of US federal, state, and local EHS regulations
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and internal stakeholders
- Willingness to travel regionally and nationally (up to 50–70%, as needed)
- Experience managing direct reports and/or leading project teams
- Background supporting clients in technology, pharmaceutical/biotech, manufacturing, power, chemical, or oil & gas sectors
- CSP, CIH, or similar professional certification
- Master’s degree or equivalent advanced education
- Project management, proposal development, and budgeting experience
- Develop and implement health and safety strategies across areas such as risk assessment, safety management systems, industrial hygiene, chemical management, and process safety
- Lead and support audits, assessments, and program improvements across a wide range of safety disciplines, including electrical safety, machine guarding, confined space, emergency preparedness, and robotics safety
- Partner with clients to identify compliance gaps and implement practical, sustainable corrective actions
- Analyze field data to evaluate conditions, communicate findings, and recommend effective solutions
- Deliver training, field coaching, and targeted assessments to support improved safety performance
- Build trusted client relationships that drive repeat business and exceed expectations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality project delivery
- Mentor colleagues and actively contribute to knowledge sharing within ERM
- Continuously develop technical, leadership, and consulting skills through internal and external learning opportunities
For the Managing Consultant, Heath and Safety position, the anticipated annual base pay is $103,872–$130,886 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
