Role Overview
Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) – Territory covers Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island. The FRM supports the Respiratory business unit by managing defined accounts within the specified geographic region, ensuring efficient patient access and reimbursement for Amgen products.
Key Responsibilities- Execute the territory strategic plan for Patient Access and Reimbursement.
- Act as an extension of the HUB, providing live one‑on‑one coverage support.
- Assist healthcare providers (HCPs) from physician order to reimbursement, covering prior authorization, appeals, denials, and related forms.
- Resolve patient‑level reimbursement issues, utilizing knowledge of PHI and payer policies.
- Educate HCPs on private and public payer coverage, benefit design, and product access.
- Coordinate access and reimbursement challenges with HUB and other partners.
- Provide payer expert guidance for your defined geography and communicate changes to stakeholders.
- Explain formulary coverage, utilization management criteria, insurance forms and procedures, benefits investigation, prior authorization, appeal, and claims resolution.
- Review insurance benefit options and alternate funding or financial assistance programs.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve reimbursement issues.
- Basic qualifications:
- Doctorate or Master’s degree + 3 years customer service/leadership experience,
- or Bachelor’s degree + 5 years customer service/leadership experience,
- or Associate’s degree + 10 years customer service/leadership experience,
- or High school diploma/GED + 12 years customer service/leadership experience.
- Minimum job qualifications:
- At least two years experience in public or private third‑party access, managed care, clinical support, or sales within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong medical reimbursement experience, specialty pharmacy and buy‑and‑bill knowledge.
- Proven presentation and facilitation skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Organizational and project management skills, able to manage multiple projects.
- Strong computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web‑based meeting proficiency.
- Experience with hubs and deep knowledge of billing, coding, and appeals across physician types.
- Collaboration and leadership of cross‑functional partner meetings.
- Experience with commercial payers, Medicare plans, and state Medicaid in a geographic region.
- Preferred qualifications:
- University degree in business, healthcare, or related field.
- 6+ years experience with specialty/biologic self‑injectable or physician‑administered products.
- Advanced knowledge of medical insurance terminology and CMS policies (Medicare Part B, PartD).
- Ability to manage ambiguity, problem‑solve, and control expenses within allocated budgets.
- Annual salary range: $ to $ (U.S.).
