Cytotechnologist – Day Shift | Upstate New York
Permanent & Full-Time Direct Hire
Two Positions Available
Day Shift | 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
A healthcare organization located in Upstate New York, approximately
one hour south of Saratoga Springs
, is seeking
two Cytotechnologists
to join its laboratory team.
These are permanent opportunities for skilled Cytotechnologists interested in working a consistent daytime schedule in a professional laboratory environment.
Schedule- Full-time, permanent position
- Two positions available
- Day shift
- 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Monday–Friday schedule, as applicable to department needs

- Perform cytology examinations and evaluations according to established laboratory procedures.
- Prepare, screen, and evaluate cytologic specimens for abnormalities.
- Identify abnormal, suspicious, and potentially malignant cellular findings.
- Assist with appropriate specimen processing and preparation.
- Review and evaluate cytology slides accurately and efficiently.
- Correlate cytologic findings with available clinical information when appropriate.
- Follow established procedures for case review and quality assurance.
- Communicate significant or unusual findings to the appropriate pathology personnel.
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and records.
- Perform quality control procedures according to laboratory protocols.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues.
- Participate in quality improvement and laboratory performance initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with applicable laboratory safety and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with pathologists, laboratory professionals, and other healthcare staff.
- Perform additional cytology responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree and education/training appropriate for Cytotechnologist practice required, as applicable.
- Appropriate
Cytotechnologist certification and/or licensure
required based on applicable state and laboratory requirements. - Previous cytology laboratory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cytology principles, specimen preparation, and microscopic evaluation.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to recognize subtle cellular abnormalities.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a high-volume laboratory environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Two Cytotechnologist positions available.
