This position will lead the sanitation team for their Long Island manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for establishing and scaling a strong hygiene/sanitization program, that maintains quality compliance, and business continuity. The position will serve to support the successful execution of business strategies while meeting or exceeding quality performance goals.

Must haves** Experience with in a manufacturing setting such as personal care, pharma, food/beverage, or adjacent consumer/manufacturing settings. **
Location:
onsite at their Suffolk, County, NY facility.
- Lead and supervise the sanitation team (staffing/coverage, daily execution, coaching, onboarding) and enforce GMP hygiene expectations across compounding, filling, warehouse, and support areas
- Own sanitation master schedule and standards; verify execution, and maintain GDP-compliant records
- Develop and track KPIs and trends; communicate performance, risks, and action plans to leadership and drive continuous improvement
- Build a risk-based, scalable hygiene program that is resilient to volume fluctuation
- Standardize and simplify practices while managing cost and sustainability (chemical, water/energy, waste)
- Provide hygienic design input for new equipment/capital projects and support commissioning activities
- Lead internal hygiene audits, close findings, and support customer/regulatory audits as the hygiene SME
- Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive hygiene training program for all relevant plant personnel
- Develop role-based training content (GMPs, hygienic zoning, cleaning verification, documentation)
- Conduct behavioral audits of plant areas and close gaps with targeted retraining and process improvements
- Maintain training records and ensure readiness for internal/external audits
- Own the facility’s environmental monitoring strategy (risk-based sites, frequencies, and escalation pathways)
- Coordinate sampling plans and schedules to align with production
- Trend data, identify issues, and lead cross-functional actions to mitigate risk
- Prepare EM summaries for review and for regulatory/customer requests as applicable
- Partner with the microbiology lab to ensure effective sample handling, result interpretation, and timely communication of risks
- Support deviation/OOS/OOT investigations related to hygiene, EM, utilities, cleaning, and micro risk; lead root cause analysis and CAPA development
- Provide technical input for cleaning validation and verification
- Serve as the hygiene technical interface between Facilities, Safety, Quality, Operations, and Planning
- Align sanitation with production planning (downtime windows, shutdowns, deep cleans, line trials)
- Coordinate with facilities on hygienic design issues, water/air systems, pest prevention, and infrastructure upgrades
- Ensure sanitation chemical selection/use aligns with safety and compatibility with surfaces/equipment
- 5+ years of progressive experience within manufacturing hygiene sanitation in personal care, pharma, food, or adjacent consumer/manufacturing sectors
- Proven success in small-to-mid-size or high-growth organizations where leaders are hands-on
- Deep working knowledge of:
- Hygienic manufacturing practices and plant sanitation
- Quality systems – audits, deviations, investigations, change controls, CAPAs, and risk assessments
- Microbiology and environmental monitoring programs
- Practical, action-oriented, and comfortable rolling up sleeves
- Able to teach, mentor, and build sustainable and scalable processes
- Strong data and systems fluency; able to assess complex information to drive decisions and actions
- Proven track record in leading cross-functional projects from concept to implementation
- Available for light travel to their Midwest facility
