A leading heavy civil general contractor is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to oversee quality assurance and quality control processes on major infrastructure projects throughout New York City
. This role will play a critical part in ensuring that all construction work meets stringent regulatory, contractual, and client standards while supporting the successful delivery of complex public infrastructure projects.
This position is ideal for a construction professional with strong experience working in high-accountability environments involving public agencies and large-scale transportation or civil infrastructure work.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain the project Quality Management System (QMS) across multiple heavy civil construction projects.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and applicable agency standards.
- Coordinate with project management teams, field staff, subcontractors, and inspectors to maintain consistent quality procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify compliance with project quality plans and documentation standards.
- Manage testing and inspection programs, including coordination with third-party laboratories and inspectors.
- Maintain detailed quality documentation including inspection reports, test results, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes when quality issues arise.
- Work closely with client representatives and agency stakeholders to ensure transparency and compliance with quality standards.
- Support project teams in preparing documentation required for project closeout and agency approvals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in quality management, quality control, or inspection within heavy civil or infrastructure construction.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance processes on public infrastructure projects.
- Experience working with public agencies such as the New York City Department of Transportation
, New York City Department of Environmental Protection
, or the Metropolitan Transportation Authority is highly desirable. - Familiarity with inspection procedures, testing requirements, and compliance documentation for large-scale civil construction projects.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work across project teams, subcontractors, and owner representatives.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage complex documentation and reporting requirements.
In accordance with New York salary transparency requirements
, the anticipated base salary range for this role is:
Up to $185,000 annually
Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and relevant project background.
