Location: New York

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is currently looking for NDT Inspector to work 2nd shift. This is a direct hire opportunity with a Manufacturer of Aircraft Parts located in College Point NY.

The Quality NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Inspector is responsible for performing inspections on aircraft components and materials using approved NDT methods to ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards and customer specifications. This role is critical to maintaining product integrity, safety, and regulatory compliance within a precision manufacturing environment supporting the aerospace and defense industries.

Pay: $22/hour to $33/hour depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections using approved methods, including:
    • Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
    • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
    • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
    • Radiographic Testing (RT), as applicable
  • Inspect machined, fabricated, and assembled aircraft components for defects, discontinuities, and compliance to engineering requirements.
  • Interpret and evaluate test results in accordance with aerospace standards such as ASTM, ASME, NAS, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine inspection criteria.
  • Accurately document inspection results, including non-conformances, and initiate or support corrective actions.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with AS9100 quality standards and internal quality management systems.
  • Maintain NDT equipment, ensure proper calibration, and adhere to inspection procedures.
  • Maintain NDT certifications in accordance with NAS 410 / SNT-TC-1A requirements.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or Associate’s degree preferred).
  • Current NDT certification (Level II preferred; Level III a plus) in one or more methods (PT, MT, UT, RT).
  • 3–5+ years of NDT inspection experience in aerospace, aviation, or precision manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace inspection standards and specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience working within AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
