The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for all activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements; conducts audits and reviews/analyzes data and documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Promote and observe enforcement of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) in the facility.
- Perform daily Sanitation Pre-operational Inspections and provide corrective action.
- Assist QA Inspectors in resolving quality issues on the Production floor.
- Assist QA inspectors on the production start up.
- Assist in the scheduling and training of QA Inspectors.
- Perform quality checks on return products.
- Act as liaison between QA Inspectors and the Quality Assurance Manager and/or Supervisor.
- Maintains time and testing records, reporting weekly.
- Follow Hold procedures when placing or removing product from hold.
- Maintains and review HACCP SOPs on annual basis or when changes happens.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Overtime will be required on an as needed basis.
English or Bi-Lingual.
High school Diploma or Associates Degree (Preferred).
Certifications:
HACCP certification, Servsafe certification, Food Safety.
Computer
Skills:
Proficient with all computer applications in order to perform the job.
- Experience as a QA technician, preferably in a USDA inspected facility.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English.
- Experience with enforcing a HACCP Program.
- Experience in training and mentoring Team members.
- Experience with basic lab procedure.
- Good verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of Spanish (Preferred).
- Must be Organized and attentive to details.
- Must be Self-motivated, have a strong sense of urgency and a bias for action.
- Must be flexible in challenging and complex work environment while firmly maintaining compliance and upholding standards.

- The work is performed primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse environment, specifically the packing and warehousing areas.
- Standing most of the work day is required.
- Work requires movement in and out of store rooms, near heavy machinery and freezers.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.
- The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
Position may require extended hours including evenings and/or weekends, or travel to multiple work sites.
WORK SCHEDULESun - Thurs. 6am - 2:30pm. Hours subject to changes.
SALARY TARGET$19 per hour
