The Transit Management Analyst Trainee is an entry-level role responsible for supporting the oversight and enforcement of quality standards related to subway car inspections and maintenance activities. The analyst will assist in developing and maintaining databases and reports that track quality assurance findings, inspection activities, and field audit results. Responsibilities include data entry, compliance verification, and analytical review to ensure inspections and maintenance work meet established technical and operational requirements.
The role also supports the review and documentation of field quality reports, assists with timekeeping and administrative tasks, performs data analysis to identify defect trends and inspection performance, participates in field inspections and post‑inspection reviews, and coordinates with internal departments and external vendors to resolve identified issues. This position plays a key role in maintaining quality standards and strengthening accountability within NYCT’s Field Quality Assurance programs.
- Assist in reviewing, documenting, and maintaining field quality reports to ensure accurate tracking of operational issues.
- Support timekeeping processes and perform related administrative duties.
- Enter, organize, and analyze data to identify defect trends and evaluate inspection performance metrics.
- Participate in field inspections and contribute to post‑inspection assessments to support quality assurance.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Access.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work at various field locations on a 24‑hour, 7‑day‑a‑week basis as required.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent decision‑making skills.
Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, interview, and written assessment. All selected candidates will be subject to a full background investigation that includes employment and education. Discrepancies may lead to dismissal.
