Quality Control Technician / Junior Quality Engineer
Stony Point, NY (Onsite)
$50,000 - $60,000
Full-Time | First Shift (8:00 AM Start)
Overview
We are seeking a Quality Control Technician / Junior Quality Engineer to join a growing electronics and lighting manufacturing team. This role serves as a key partner to Manufacturing and Quality Engineering, focusing on incoming inspection, production quality, and process improvement initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer or quality professional looking to grow within a collaborative, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform incoming inspection of purchased parts and subassemblies using defined criteria
* Conduct quality inspections and testing to ensure compliance with specifications
* Utilize inspection tools including:
* Calipers
* Micrometers
* Height gages
* Thread gages and pin gages
* Accurately document inspection results and maintain quality records
* Support root cause analysis (RCA) for production issues (scrap, rework, yield loss)
* Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to drive process improvements
* Maintain and update controlled documents, inspection templates, and quality records
* Assist with implementing SPC metrics and continuous improvement initiatives
* Provide recommendations to improve product quality and manufacturing processes
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
* 1+ year of experience in manufacturing or quality control (internships/co-ops acceptable)
* Strong understanding of:
* Quality control and inspection processes
* Root cause analysis
* Experience using inspection tools and measurement equipment
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in electronics or lighting manufacturing
* Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS)
* Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles
* Experience with SPC (Statistical Process Control)
* Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $60000.00/yr.
