Quality Assurance Specialist
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to support the Safety and Mission Assurance Services II (SMAS II) contract via a Resident Management Office (MOOG) located in East Aurora, NY.
Responsibilities- Perform Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS) inspection functions for space flight hardware in accordance with established customer and company requirements.
- Maintain current company and customer-required training and certifications necessary to uphold quality inspection stamp authorization and warranty expectations.
- Execute quality requirements in accordance with customer-approved quality assurance plans, policies, and specifications during all phases of hardware fabrication, testing, first article inspections, and final end-item inspections.
- Apply working knowledge of AS9100/ISO
9001 Quality System requirements or equivalent industry standards while interpreting complex blueprints, technical charts, and specification sheets. - Other duties as assigned.
- US Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related information.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of recent and related work experience.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical charts, and specification sheets.
- Ability to initiate non‑conformance reports, document and report inspection results, and monitor corrective actions for effectiveness.
- Maintain current company and customer training certifications required to uphold quality inspection stamp authorization and warranty expectations.
- Work with company and customer representatives to resolve inspection questions and communicate technical issues to project engineers to ensure compliance with final product specification requirements.
- Knowledge of higher‑level quality assurance system requirement documents, with the ability to interpret and apply QA system‑level requirements while performing quality assurance duties.
- Interpret and apply higher‑level quality assurance system requirements while performing all assigned quality assurance duties.
- Execute quality requirements in accordance with customer‑approved quality assurance plans, policies, and specifications during all phases of hardware fabrication, testing, first article inspections, and final end‑item inspections.
- Perform accurate mechanical, physical, and visual inspections, conduct process surveillance through witnessing and monitoring techniques, and verify test results and documentation for raw materials, components, and sub‑assemblies in accordance with approved inspection documents and specification requirements.
- This position is located onsite; some travel may be required.
- Schedules are subject to change based on the requirements of the position and/or customer needs.

- Organized with good time‑management skills and ability to work outside normal schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
- Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and may require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
- Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
