The Quality Assurance Supervisor oversees the company's quality systems and compliance programs to ensure cosmetic and over-the-counter (OTC) products consistently meet regulatory, customer, and internal quality requirements. This position is responsible for maintaining compliance with FDA regulations, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and applicable quality standards while supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to align with regulatory and industry standards.
- Direct quality investigations, including nonconformances, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), change management activities, and root cause analyses.
- Maintain quality documentation systems and review or approve controlled records and procedures.
- Develop and track key quality performance indicators to monitor compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Coordinate and participate in regulatory inspections, customer assessments, and external audits.
- Prepare responses to audit findings and ensure corrective actions are completed within established timelines.
- Support inspection readiness efforts and assist with regulatory documentation when required.
- Provide quality guidance and oversight across production, packaging, labeling, storage, and distribution activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with established quality and GMP requirements.
- Assist with validation programs, supplier quality management, and qualification of incoming materials.
- Supervise and develop quality personnel through coaching, training, and performance management.
- Ensure ongoing GMP and quality-related training programs are effectively maintained.
- Foster a culture focused on quality, compliance, accountability, and operational improvement.
- Act as a key quality representative for customer-related matters.
- Review, investigate, and resolve customer complaints while implementing appropriate corrective measures.
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of quality assurance experience within a regulated manufacturing environment, including cosmetics, OTC products, pharmaceuticals, or similar industries.
- Demonstrated experience leading or supervising quality teams.
- Strong understanding of FDA requirements, cGMP regulations, and quality standards applicable to cosmetic and OTC manufacturing.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
