Job Overview
Supervisor, Food Safety & Quality Control oversees safety and quality from ingredient receipt to finished product distribution, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and quality specifications. The position requires strong technical and communication skills, data analysis, and documentation of findings.
Responsibilities- Perform checks on packaging and processing lines, including Metal Detector (CCP), quality grading, sample evaluation, seal/code verification, package integrity, analytical testing.
- Supervise routine manufacturing checks: production line monitoring, sanitation standards, HACCP/HARPC checks, label auditing, weight checks, and documentation review.
- Ensure correct execution of HACCP/HARPC programs and company policies.
- Provide technical support and training on FDA regulations, process control, product performance reporting, GMPs, and food safety principles.
- Lead CAPA closures for identified food safety non-conformances.
- Review Food Safety Plan records and maintain daily records.
- File and maintain electronic and hard copy records.
- Coordinate regulatory visits and inspections, including FDA audits.
- Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual food safety activities.
- Audit and close regulatory gaps.
- Communicate with management, peers, customers, and suppliers on food safety matters.
- Perform pre‑Op line inspections and ATP verifications.
- Document foreign material findings and complete line restart forms.
- Collect and grade inbound samples; review ingredient statements.
- Perform monthly GMP and food safety self inspections.
- Conduct monthly glass inspections and update registry.
- Schedule sanitation crew and create master sanitation cleaning schedule.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- SQF certification required.
- Certified HACCP/HARPC.
- 2‑4 years experience in QA and manufacturing.
- Ability to perform HACCP/HARPC audits, SSOP, pest control, weight checks, and line quality audits.
- Accurate and legible documentation skills.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Basic math and computer proficiency.
- Travel up to 10%.
- Lift up to 75 lb occasionally; up to 25 lb frequently.
- Reasonable accommodations available.
- Work in hot (up to 100 °F) un‑air‑conditioned environments; extended periods in cool conditions.
- Continuous standing, bending, stooping, grasping, twisting, lifting, walking, and sweeping activities.
