Kinsa is recruiting for a:
Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager Mission:

Our client, a producer of premium confectionery products, is looking for a Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager to add to their team. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. This role involves ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations, managing audit readiness, and working cross-functionally with operations, Sales, Marketing and R&D.

Successful candidates MUST HAVE experience in a food processing plant environment (and/or other singular qualifier under Competencies/Culture below).

What you’ll be responsible for
  • Lead and maintain the facility’s Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, including HACCP, FSMA Preventive Controls, and BRC certification
  • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations including thermal processing, record-keeping, and scheduled process validation
  • Prepare for FDA, customer, and third-party audits
  • Manage and train QA and sanitation teams on GMPs, food safety protocols, and regulatory updates
  • Maintain traceability and recall readiness systems
  • Conduct root cause analysis and lead corrective/preventive actions
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production on hygienic design, product safety, and continuous improvement projects
  • Develop and implement Quality programs and policies in collaboration with other functions within the company
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field
  • 5+ Years of progressive leadership experience in a food processing environment
  • 5+ Years of Food Safety and Quality Assurance experience in a food or beverage processing environment
  • Experience developing and implementing GFSI Schemes (BRC or SQF)
