Job OverviewMoog is a world‑wide leader of advanced flight controls and actuation for commercial and military aircraft. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the quality and integrity of parts received from vendors.
Responsibilities- Perform a wide variety of quality control tasks including the inspection of vendor‑supplied parts and outside processing operations.
- Conduct dimensional inspection of parts, review Certificates of Conformance, and verify compliance with written instructions, procedures and special process parameters.
- Utilize a variety of gauges and sophisticated measuring equipment to inspect precision vendor‑machined parts for conformance to blueprint.
- Generate non‑conformance reports using quality control software.
- Review supplier First Article Inspection Reports for compliance with AS9102 standards.
- Serve as an individual contributor applying broad knowledge of systems and procedures acquired through many years of experience.
- Delegate tasks to other team members and review their work product, occasionally acting as a team lead.
- Work with minimal supervision and take on new types of work or special assignments as required.
- High school diploma or GED preferred. Demonstrated ability to understand and apply verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and perform simple arithmetic.
- At least 5 years of experience inspecting precision machined components using a variety of inspection techniques and gauging.
- At least 5 years of experience using TipQA or equivalent quality software.
- At least 5 years of experience generating non‑conformance reports using TipQA or equivalent software.
- At least 5 years of experience performing or reviewing First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102 requirements.
- At least 5 years of experience using an advanced understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience using advanced inspection equipment such as CMM, Roundness Analyzer, Smart Scope, and Surface Analyzers is preferred.
- Enrollment and participation in Moog’s FAA Drug & Alcohol Program is required for this position.
- Advanced knowledge of job methods, systems, and procedures typically acquired through at least 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, delegating tasks and reviewing work product.
