Position: Quality Assurance Specialist (BT-26126)
Location: East Aurora

Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Specialist will support the Safety and Mission Assurance Services II (SMAS II) contract via a resident management office located in East Aurora, NY.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Quality Assurance Specialist inspection functions for space flight hardware in accordance with established customer and company requirements.
  • Maintain current company and customer-required training and certifications necessary to uphold quality inspection stamp authorization and warranty expectations.
  • Execute quality requirements in accordance with customer-approved quality assurance plans, policies, and specifications during all phases of hardware fabrication, testing, first article inspections, and final end-item inspections.
  • Apply working knowledge of AS9100/ISO
    9001 Quality System requirements, or equivalent industry standards, while interpreting complex blueprints, technical charts, and specification sheets.
  • Perform accurate mechanical, physical, and visual inspections; conduct process surveillance through witnessing and monitoring techniques; verify test results and documentation for raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies in accordance with approved inspection documents and specification requirements.
  • Initiate non-conformance reports, document and report inspection results, and monitor corrective actions for effectiveness.
  • Work with company and customer representatives to resolve inspection questions and communicate technical issues to project engineers to ensure compliance with final product specification requirements.
  • Interpret and apply higher-level quality assurance system requirements while performing all assigned quality assurance duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • High School or equivalent education.
  • 5+ years of recent and related work experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical charts, and specification sheets.
  • Ability to initiate non-conformance reports, document and report inspection results, and monitor corrective actions for effectiveness.
  • Maintain current company and customer training certifications required to uphold quality inspection stamp authorization and warranty expectations.
  • Work with company and customer representatives to resolve inspection questions and communicate technical issues to project engineers to ensure compliance with final product specification requirements.
  • Knowledge of higher-level quality assurance system requirement documents, and ability to interpret and apply QA system-level requirements.
  • Execute quality requirements in accordance with customer-approved quality assurance plans, policies, and specifications during all phases of hardware fabrication, testing, first article inspections, and final end-item inspections.

Work Location
  • Position is located onsite; some travel may be required.
  • Schedules are subject to change based on the requirements of the position and/or customer needs.
Security and Background Verification
