Calibration Technician II
Eaton's Mission Systems Division is currently seeking a Calibration Tech II. This position is based at our Orchard Park, NY facility and is responsible for supporting the entire organization by calibrating and maintaining a multitude of inspection, measuring, and test equipment located in the manufacturing facilities. The multitude of inspection, measuring, and test equipment include, but are not limited to, those used to measure pressure, flow, torque, temperature, time, weight and dimensions.
Job responsibilities include complying with work policies and safety issues related to programs or equipment usage, calibrating (and performing routine maintenance on) inspection, measuring, and test equipment to verify accuracy and performance acceptability using documented calibration procedures, manufacturer's technical manuals and drawings/prints, assisting with cross training of calibration technicians, maintaining calibration standards including revising and writing new calibration procedures, meeting customer expectations by completing calibrations by the documented due date, preparing calibration reports, identifying out-of-tolerance conditions, approving and monitoring calibration extensions, maintaining records of calibration and updating calibration database, reviewing calibration certificates to verify that calibration requirements were met, keeping calibration lab in a clean and orderly condition, and actively participating in 5S and continuous improvement activities.
QualificationsBasic qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, three (3) years of experience performing calibrations in a manufacturing environment, attention to detail, and the discipline to follow through on assigned tasks. This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by export laws of the US. In order to be eligible you must be either a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Preferred qualifications include an associate degree in a technical discipline and eight (8) year minimum experience calibrating inspection, measuring and test equipment such as flow, pressure, mechanical or electrical devices, as well as, high pressure pneumatics.
Position criteria / soft skills include the ability to communicate effectively with manufacturing technicians, supervisors, and managers, the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, the ability to readily adapt to changes in calibration priorities, and familiarity with ISO 10012 or equivalent.
