Product Development Quality Control Manager

Are you a strong communicator with a sharp eye for detail and uncompromising standards? IL MAKIAGE is seeking a passionate, quality-obsessed team member to join our Product Development – Quality Control team in NYC.

In this role, you’ll be instrumental in safeguarding the quality and consistency of our high-performance beauty products—from innovative new launches to established bestsellers. You will get to travel to various manufacturers, meet our suppliers and product testers from around the world.

As part of a fast-moving, cross‑functional team, you’ll gain hands‑on experience across the entire product development life cycle and work closely with both internal teams and external partners—from R&D to contract manufacturers—driving impact from day one.

You’ll support and lead Quality Control efforts across all stages of product development and production, including:

• Lead New Product Development Quality Testing: Develop and execute quality testing plans for new product launches, coordinating internal and external laboratory testing, and partnering with Formula, Packaging, and R&D teams to ensure product performance, quality, and regulatory compliance from development through commercialization.
• Production Oversight: Partner with suppliers and laboratories to evaluate and approve production batches in accordance with IL MAKIAGE's quality standards.

  Qualification:
  
  Represent IL MAKIAGE on‑site at manufacturing and supplier facilities to oversee formula and packaging evaluations, line trials, production runs, and supplier qualification audits. Develop SOPs and quality standards for new formula, packaging, and filling partners to ensure production readiness and compliance.
• Special Projects: Lead quality initiatives for reformulations and other strategic projects by developing testing plans, managing consumer testing, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, and delivering actionable recommendations to suppliers.
• Risk Management & Continuous Improvement: Identify quality risks and process gaps throughout development and production, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement with manufacturing partners.

  Partner with R&D, Manufacturing, Packaging, and Supply Chain teams to support product launches and continuous quality improvement.
• New Product Registration & Compliance: Coordinate quality documentation, testing requirements, and technical files to support new product registrations and regulatory compliance across global markets.

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a relevant industry or business environment.
• Comfortable traveling frequently and providing decisive guidance in dynamic production environments.
• Self‑starter who is curious, is able to proactively anticipate challenges and think around corners, and has a bias toward getting things done.
• Natural‑born project manager with excellent attention to detail and a passion for organizing processes and people.
• Strong analytical background with the ability to build dashboards, run quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and provide strategic insights.
• Superstar who thrives in a fast‑paced and changing environment with deadline pressure.
• Strong communicator (written and verbal).

• Bachelor’s Degree.
