The RoleSuffolk is seeking people who are bold, curious, innovative, and caring. The Construction QA/QC Manager is a primary role responsible for the implementation and management of applicable quality control plan(s) directed by the General Manager on a company‑wide, division‑wide or project‑wide basis. The goal is to assure work performed by Suffolk Construction and its subcontractors is compliant with specifications, plans, and governmental requirements from project commencement through close‑out (including commissioning, if applicable).
Responsibilities- Implement and maintain the Corporate Quality Management Program across all business areas and ensure compliance.
- Expand and develop standard operating procedures and processes to achieve the highest levels of quality for completed construction projects.
- Assist with the creation of project‑specific Quality Management Plans and verify implementation for each project.
- Develop quality metrics that empower teams to review quality execution information; work cross‑functionally with operations to address trends.
- Manage a team of Quality Managers and/or professionals to execute administrative tasks related to reporting site evaluations, quality reporting requirements, and site‑specific quality planning.
- Conduct random site evaluations, including follow‑up evaluations to ensure corrections have been made to deficiencies.
- Create mechanisms for sharing best practices and quality issues across project teams and among all quality personnel.
- Act as a resource for field operations with compliance on Federal and State regulatory requirements and local quality regulations including ADA, ASHE, NFPA, UL, ASTM, and FBC.
- Develop and update comprehensive training curriculum for all field operations, quality department staff, and subcontractors.
- Stay abreast of trends and evolving best practices by participating in organizations and forums dedicated to quality; keep the company informed of the latest updates on best practices and standards.
- Represent Suffolk with owners, architects, consultants, government authorities, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Build effective working relationships with clients, trade partners, and Suffolk project team members.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Quality Management, or a demonstrated equivalent field.
- 5+ years of experience in related construction fields.
- Solid understanding of means and methods of construction.
- Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry.
- Working knowledge of national and state code and quality regulations/standards.
