Fine Jewelry Quality Control & Finishing Specialist

A-Z Jewelry Solutions is seeking an experienced Fine Jewelry Quality Control & Finishing Specialist to join our manufacturing team in New York City’s Diamond District.

This position requires exceptional attention to detail and is responsible for carefully inspecting finished and in-process fine jewelry to ensure every piece meets our quality standards before moving to the next stage of production or shipment.

• Inspect rings and fine jewelry throughout the manufacturing process
• Identify casting porosity, pits, cracks, and other metal defects
• Check for loose, missing, damaged, or improperly set stones
• Inspect center stones for proper alignment and positioning
• Check pavé, prongs, and stone setting for consistency and security
• Identify scratches, tool marks, polishing defects, and surface imperfections
• Verify ring size, metal color, finish, and overall appearance
• Ensure jewelry matches approved designs and production specifications
• Return pieces requiring correction to the appropriate production department
• Perform final QC inspections before pieces are approved for shipment
• Maintain accurate QC records and communicate recurring quality issues to production management
• Assist with laser engraving of finished jewelry
• Assist with rhodium plating and other jewelry plating processes
• Maintain a clean and organized QC and finishing area

• Minimum 1 year of professional fine jewelry QC experience required
• Attention to detail is required
• Experience inspecting engagement rings, bridal jewelry, diamond-set jewelry, or other fine jewelry
• Ability to identify extremely small defects and inconsistencies
• Understanding of proper stone setting, polishing, finishing, and overall jewelry quality
• Experience with jewelry QC, diamond setting, polishing, finishing, or bench jewelry is strongly preferred
• Comfortable handling diamonds, gemstones, and precious-metal jewelry
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a production environment
• Reliable, organized, and quality focused
• Able to clearly communicate quality issues with setters, jewelers, polishers, and production staff

Laser engraving, rhodium, and plating experience is not required. Training for these processes will be conducted.

Quality control at A-Z takes place throughout the manufacturing process, not only at the final inspection. This position plays an important role in identifying problems early and ensuring every piece leaving our facility meets both A-Z standards and our clients’ specifications.

We are looking for someone with a strong eye for detail who will notice imperfections others may miss.

Compensation: $20-$24 per hour, based on experience.

Full-time, on-site position in New York City’s Diamond District.
