BERO is seeking a Director of Quality Assurance to build and lead the global quality function across all brewing and co-packing sites. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for setting quality standards, sensory/flavor consistency, food safety compliance, and supplier/brewery partner oversight across the US and UK (with additional markets as BERO expands). You will be the final word on whether product ships, and the architect of the systems that keep every can consistent no matter which site brewed it.
Key Responsibilities- Multi-Site Quality Standards: Develop and enforce unified quality specifications, SOPs, and sensory/flavor profiles across all brewing partners so every BERO can tastes identical regardless of brewing location.
- Brewing Partner Oversight: Serve as BERO's quality lead in relationships with contract brewers and co-packers (including our UK brewing partner), conducting regular site audits, batch reviews, and corrective action follow-through.
- Food Safety & Compliance: Own compliance with FDA, TTB, and equivalent UK/EU/international food safety and alcohol-content regulations (critical given BERO's 0.5% ABV classification) across all operating geographies.
- Sensory & Flavor Consistency: Establish sensory panels and tasting protocols to catch batch variance before it reaches shelf, protecting the premium taste experience central to the BERO brand.
- QA/QC Systems: Build scalable quality management systems (HACCP, GMP, batch record review, incoming raw material testing, finished goods release) that can flex as BERO adds new brewing sites and SKUs (e.g., Shandy, Kingston Golden Pils bottle launch).
- Root Cause & CAPA: Lead investigations into quality complaints, out-of-spec batches, or field issues; drive corrective and preventive action plans with brewing partners.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with Supply Chain, R&D/Brewing, and Commercial teams to ensure new product launches and packaging formats (cans, bottles, variety packs) meet quality gates before scale-up.
- Team & Vendor Management: Hire and manage regional QA leads or third-party lab partners as the brewing footprint grows; manage the global quality budget.
- Regulatory & Retailer Audits: Prepare for and manage third-party certifications and retailer quality audits (e.g., major grocery/retail partners) across markets.
