Overview

Property Accountant - Boutique Midtown Real Estate Firm — 70-90k + fully paid benefits. Our client, a privately held real estate investment and management firm, is seeking a hands-on and versatile Accountant/Real Estate Operations Associate to join their lean and collaborative team. The portfolio includes a mix of single-tenant net lease properties, vacant land, and a multi-tenant shopping center.

This role is ideal for someone with a background in real estate accounting, particularly A/P, A/R, and monthly reporting, who is also comfortable pitching in on operational tasks as needed. The team values clear communication, good judgment, and positive working relationships.

• Handle full-cycle A/P and A/R, including vendor payments, tenant billing, and collections
• Prepare monthly reporting packages and perform bank reconciliations
• Manage CAM reconciliations for the shopping center and one single-tenant property
• Send rent statements and assist with operational tasks such as vendor coordination and insurance follow-up
• Communicate with tenants and assist in managing day-to-day tenant relationships
• Interface with external CPA, insurance providers, and vendors as needed
• Support ongoing property and portfolio-level financial tracking and reporting
• Process incoming wires and ensure accurate payment allocations

• Strong attention to detail and ability to think critically and independently
• Comfortable taking initiative and thinking one step ahead
• Prior Yardi experience highly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is a plus but not required
• Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented mindset

Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 (commensurate with experience) plus company paid benefits, 401k
