As an Assistant Property Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operation of a 120-unit affordable housing property for formerly homeless vets and seniors located in St. Albans, New York. Under the guidance of the Property Manager, you’ll manage tenant interactions, coordinate with interdisciplinary staff (e.g., maintenance and social services), manage financial and reporting matters, interface with HELP’s Central Office support teams, and serve as a key member of the property management team ans.
Yourresponsibilities will include:
- Managing aspects of rent administration and leasing – including rent collection,‑ins, move‑outs, and lease renewals.
- Supporting implementation and compliance with City FHEPS/Section 8/HUD Vash and any other pertinent housing program requirements.
- Maintaining tenant‑related records, including on‑site hard copy tenant files and in Yardi
- Preparing regular, routine, and as‑needed reports
- Meaningful, affordable housing property management experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred, but extensive affordable housing property management experience with a High School Diploma/GED could be acceptable.
- Outstanding customer service and conflict management skills with a willingness to coordinate and cooperate as part of a multidisciplinary service team.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, demanding environment.
- Ability to take initiative, be dependable and resourceful, and pay keen attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Computer literacy,
particularly with Yardi and Microsoft Office applications
Actual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage, prevailing wage, or exempt salary requirements under federal, state and local laws.
