Compensation: $75,000–$85,000 base salary + potential discretionary bonus

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Property Manager to support the day-to-day operations of a luxury residential multifamily portfolio in Manhattan. This position will work closely with the Property Manager and building teams to ensure properties are well maintained, residents receive exceptional service, and operational standards are consistently met.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, highly responsive, and comfortable working in a structured, compliance-focused environment. NYC luxury multifamily experience is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Property Manager with the daily operations of a portfolio of approximately 300–400 residential units.
  • Conduct regular property inspections and follow up on maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and operational issues.
  • Coordinate bid proposals, service contracts, and vendor relationships.
  • Monitor the performance of service contractors and ensure contracted services are completed to established standards.
  • Assist with the supervision and coordination of building staff.
  • Coordinate resident move-ins and move-outs, including furniture deliveries, pickups, key returns, and inspection follow-up.
  • Track move-outs and coordinate with building staff regarding apartment damages and related issues.
  • Process and review invoices, purchase orders, work orders, expense reports, check requests, and staff hours in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate Certificates of Insurance for vendors and tenants.
  • Assist with tenant communications, including notices, memos, correspondence, and responses to resident concerns.
  • Respond promptly to tenant complaints and follow up on nuisance, maintenance, and building-related issues.
  • Assist with vendor and payment inquiries and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate property records and operational procedures.
  • Support the Property Manager with monthly reporting and other administrative and operational responsibilities.
  • Assist with employee performance and disciplinary matters, including progressive discipline when appropriate.
  • Assume designated Property Manager responsibilities in the absence of the Property Manager, in accordance with established procedures.
  • Participate in property meetings, inspections, special projects, and operational initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, building regulations, and applicable requirements.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of property management experience
    , with NYC residential rental/multifamily experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in luxury multifamily residential property management is highly desirable.
  • Condo or co-op property management experience will be considered; multifamily rental experience will be prioritized and preferred.
  • Experience working in a unionized building environment
    , particularly 32BJ, is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience conducting property/building inspections.
  • Experience handling employee performance conversations and/or progressive disciplinary processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize competing responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable working within a structured, process-driven environment while maintaining high operational standards.
