Location: New York

We are seeking a research driven scientist motivated to apply scientific expertise to advance drug development projects. In this role, you will be responsible for the physical analytics of drug substances and drug products, utilizing a wide range of analytical techniques such as XRD, DSC, TGA, DVS, LDP, and SEM. The primary focus of the work is on solid, powdered materials.

As a CMC team member, you will plan and execute studies, interpret and summarize results, draw scientifically sound conclusions, and prepare documentation for regulatory submissions. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders working closely together in multi-disciplinary teams, and guide the work of research assistants in the Physical Analytical Laboratory. You will also develop physical analytical laboratory activities and follow the international development.

The work includes laboratory work on site in Espoo. This position is a parental leave cover. The role will start at the beginning of April and is expected to last approximately one year.

  • Master’s or preferably doctoral degree in physics, chemistry, pharmacy, or a related field
  • Practical experience in physical analytics and solid‑state characterization
  • Hands‑on experience working with solid, powdered materials
  • Strong knowledge and proven hands‑on use of physical analytical techniques
  • Willingness and ability to conduct regular laboratory work
  • Accurate, reliable, and proactive working style with a “hands‑on” approach
  • Ability to propose practical, science‑based solutions to identified problems
  • Active and constructive participation in team processes and project work
  • Fluent oral and written communication skills in English, with Finnish language skills considered as an advantage
  • Motivation to learn and develop, combined with strong teamwork and interpersonal abilities
  • Creative thinking and innovativeness considered an advantage
