Mangrove Neuro is an early-stage biotechnology company developing stem cell–based regenerative strategies for the brain. We engineer region-specific neural tissues using human iPSCs, with a focus on hippocampal tissue engineering and graft-based repair
. Our work integrates developmental neuroscience with advanced 3D culture systems to explore new approaches to brain repair.
We are hiring a PhD-level Scientist to help build and advance our iPSC-derived hippocampal tissue engineering platform. This role is well suited for someone who combines strong hands-on experimental skills with scientific curiosity, enjoys developing and refining new experimental approaches, and is motivated to contribute thoughtfully to platform development in a collaborative startup environment.
What you’ll do- Culture and differentiate human iPSCs into hippocampal and region-specific neural lineages
- Develop and optimize 3D neural culture systems and hippocampal grafts
- Apply and refine developmental signaling strategies to guide hippocampal tissue organization and regional identity
- Characterize cells and tissues using ICC, qPCR, flow cytometry, and transcriptomic approaches
- Work closely with a small, hands-on team to build core platforms from the ground up
- PhD in stem cell biology, neuroscience, developmental biology, bioengineering, or a related field
- Strong experience with human iPSC culture and neural differentiation
- Comfortable designing experiments, troubleshooting complex biological systems, and owning a technical area
- Excited to work in a collaborative startup environment
- Experience with hippocampal development, patterning, or circuit formation
- Experience with 3D culture systems or tissue engineering approaches
- Background in neural tissue engineering, organoids, or graft-based systems
- Interest in regenerative medicine and hippocampal repair
