The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Research Assistant will work at the Gertrude H. Sergievsky Center and the Taub Institute for Research on Alzheimer’s and the Aging Brain. In this role, the Research Assistant will support the Principal Investigator and Project Coordinator with data collection and quality control for nationally representative studies of older adults. These studies focus on how education and early-adulthood workforce experiences influence health later in life.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct scoring and double scoring of standardized cognitive assessments.
  • Assist with coordinating and supervising testers, including leading or observing occasional Zoom conferences.
  • Maintain, update, and revise operating manuals and study procedures.
  • Organize and file study materials; perform data cleaning and data entry.
  • Prepare and present collected data as needed.
  • Under the supervision of the Research Coordinator, support oversight of test administration and re-training.
  • Provide booster training sessions for field interviewers.
  • Certify survey contractor staff on the administration of memory, language, and attention tests, as well as surveys related to daily functioning and demographic background.
  • Participate in training and certification on standardized administration and scoring procedures through observation and supervised assessment scoring.
  • Attend bi-weekly meetings with the Principal Investigator and study team, as well as weekly meetings with the Project Coordinator, to review progress and discuss day-to-day activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 1.5 years of related experience or equivalent in education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in research setting
  • Experience working with Excel and/or SPSS
