About the LabThe Rudensky Lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center studies the molecular mechanisms governing the differentiation and function of lymphocytes and their role in immunity and tolerance. The lab’s work focuses on advancing understanding of immune regulation in health and disease, and operates in a dynamic, team‑oriented research environment dedicated to scientific discovery and translational impact.
About the RoleThe Research Technician will support ongoing research in immunology and cancer biology, working closely with lab members to execute experiments and maintain critical lab operations. The role offers exposure to a wide range of techniques and the opportunity to contribute to impactful research in a fast‑paced academic environment. Candidates should be self‑driven, collaborative, and motivated to advance cancer immunotherapy research. A 2‑ to 3‑year commitment is sought, with a preference for 3 years, to ensure continuity and meaningful contribution to ongoing projects.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Perform general mouse husbandry, including genotyping, embryo preservation, rederivation, tissue sectioning, and transcardial perfusion.
- Manage complex mouse colonies, including maintaining census, ordering, and coordinating with collaborators.
- Support lab members with experiments using immunological and molecular biology techniques (imaging, flow cytometry, library preparation, PCR, cloning, etc.).
- Analyze and organize research data.
- Participate in lab meetings and review scientific literature.
- Assist with lab organization and general operational support.
Education & Experience
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related field.
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience in a research laboratory.
- Experience working with animal models preferred.

Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers (e.g., using a keyboard); communication skills using spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about the workspace. The position requires mobility, including the ability to move materials weighing up to several pounds (such as a laptop computer or tablet).

Compensation Range: $19.24 (minimum) – $24.09 (midpoint) – $31.29 (maximum) per hour.
Pay Type:
Hourly. The salary is based on relevant job market data, candidate education, experience, knowledge, skills, and internal consistency.
