Schedule: 18 hrs/week;
Monday – Thursday

Summary

With a problem-solving mandate, the Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI) is a think- and do- tank that tackles major policy challenges confronting the Asia-Pacific in Security & Diplomacy;
Trade, Investment, & Innovation;
Climate & Energy; and Society, Technology, & Public Health. The Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI) is seeking an exceptional intern with a demonstrated interest in Asia policy. A successful candidate would be assigned to an advisor during the course of the internship based on interest.

Responsibilities
  • The intern will have the opportunity to be immersed in the daily workings of an Asia policy think-and-do tank, further their research and writing skills, and learn from our vast network of experts. Some projects/activities might include:
  • Track and research current developments in Asia;
  • Write, edit, and proofread in-depth research assignments, policy memos, and event/meeting summaries;
  • Draft policy-focused web content;
  • Administrative work in support of ongoing projects including, but not limited to: event/conference coordination, event management, and drafting invitations and event blurbs;
  • Take minutes during meetings and round tables as directed;
  • Independent research and writing as time allows;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Asia Society Policy Institute Endowment interns will work in our New York office in a hybrid capacity (three days in the office).
Requirements
  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program and not yet have graduated at the time of the internship.
  • Candidates should be able to commit to a minimum of 18 hours per week for a period of at least 12 weeks;
  • Full professional proficiency in English;
  • Proficiency in an Asian language, a plus;
  • Previous internship experience preferred;
  • Strong familiarity with global issues and/or Asia;
  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills with excellent attention to detail;
  • Be based in the U.S., as well as have U.S. work authorization.
