Data Analyst – Research & Evaluation Unit
Reporting to a Senior Research Analyst and working closely with another analyst and a team responsible for program oversight, this Data Analyst will contribute to evaluation and reporting for federally funded health and housing programs and assist with other projects as needed.
Responsibilities- Support data‑driven management and standardized, federally and state‑compliant HIV services provider reporting.
- Contribute to data systems specifications, documentation, testing, data collection tools, and user support/technical assistance.
- Assist with developing, maintaining, and presenting standard reports for the HIV Care and Treatment Program and its stakeholders.
- Participate in core unit activities, including cleaning, managing, matching, analyzing and displaying process and outcomes data, and responding to ad‑hoc data requests using analytic software packages (primarily SAS).
- Help integrate data from different systems as needed to ensure data quality and completeness.
- Contribute to every stage of the research and evaluation process, from building systems for data collection, to analysis, to producing reports, presentations, and papers for public dissemination.
- Serve in local public health responses to emergencies.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of SAS (programming and analysis), Tableau (data visualization), Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office software.
- Appreciation for data quality and program quality management.
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, or environmental science or in public health.
- Doctorate degree with one year of full‑time supervisory, administrative or research experience, or
- Master’s degree with three years of full‑time research experience, or
- Education and/or experience equivalent to the above.
All candidates must have at least a Master’s degree and at least two years of experience described in the higher assignment criteria above. Two years as a City Research Scientist Level I can be substituted for the required experience.
