Job DescriptionThe Korem Lab at Columbia University ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) aims to obtain an actionable understanding of the microbiome’s role in clinically relevant settings, using rigorous bioinformatics, statistical analysis, and machine learning. As part of the Program for Mathematical Genomics and the Departments of Systems Biology, we operate in an engaging and multi-disciplinary environment consisting of computational biologists, applied mathematicians, statisticians, physicists, and physicians.
The lab operates at the intersection between data science, computational biology, and medicine, developing analytic approaches, algorithms, and computational methods and applying them to integrate multi-omic and clinical data to study health and disease.
We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher who will lead an NIH-funded project studying cross-cohort associations between the gut microbiome and alopecia areata. The project is a collaboration with the lab of Dr. Angela Christiano. This is a position for a computational biologist with excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer programming, bioinformatics, statistical analysis, and data visualization.
Qualifications- Ph.D. in any quantitative science (statistics, computer science, physics or similar fields) or in life sciences with a strong computational background. You will acquire any missing domain knowledge with us.
