BI Associate Analyst – Media:
You will be part of this expanding team and support the Media Senior Analyst in the Technology group, focusing on financial modeling, insight generation, writing, and investment research using company financial data, industry data, Bloomberg data sets, and issuer calls and announcements.

• Actively contribute to the team’s daily research activities (data aggregation, financial modeling, written research, idea generation)
• Monitor and interpret major company developments and identify macro themes and trends affecting industries
• Manage significant data analysis and modeling responsibilities; synthesize results, draw conclusions, and develop concise narratives that communicate the story behind the data
• Review submitted research for adherence to global quality standards
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal departments at Bloomberg and external company, industry and data professionals; participate in department‑wide special projects
• Work with other data and core business groups to help develop and enhance content and functionality across the terminal
• Interact with clients via online messaging systems
• Use generative AI, machine learning tools, and automation to improve research workflows, data discovery, modeling, and content development

• Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a focus or concentration in Finance or a related degree
• At least two years of financial market research or industry‑specific subject matter experience, with demonstrable research and analytical skills
• A deep understanding of advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of finance/accounting
• Solid experience performing quantitative financial analysis, with knowledge of companies, industries, financial statement analysis, and modeling
• The ability to spot anomalies in financial data, think critically about what the data is telling you, and identify when something does not align or make sense
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• High level of curiosity and attention to detail
• Strong organization skills and the ability to handle multiple projects; meet deadlines, logically tackle problems, and set priorities
• Excellent written communication and presentation skills
• A commitment to enhancing and developing products
• Willingness to adopt new technologies, including generative AI and automation, to build repeatable workflows, improve research efficiency and quality, and support data‑driven analysis

• Proficient industry knowledge of the Media sector
• CFA designation and/or MBA degree, and/or graduate educational experience
• Experience using Python and/or visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense)
