Job Summary
The State University of New York College of Optometry has an immediate opening for a full-time laboratory technician in the Biological Research Facility. The role involves assisting in studies of eye development and ocular disease, day‑to‑day operations of a NIH funded laboratory, and working directly with investigators on experimental models, data collection and analysis, and oversight of general laboratory organization and maintenance.

QualificationsJob Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in science or previous experience as a laboratory technician. General interest in vision research, ability to work independently after training, and exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Strong organizational skills, ability to work closely with other lab members, reliability, and willingness to learn. Experience in cellular and molecular techniques, neuroscience or vision science, computers and electronics, data management, and wet lab techniques is desirable.
Compensation and BenefitsAnnual salary range: $50,000 – $65,000, plus a generous benefits package.
