We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Associate Research Scientist. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with Principal Investigators (PIs) and working independently within the scientific framework of the PIs Section The Section of Medical Ethics (SoME). This person will lead the implementation of empirical bioethics research from planning to completion and will support the development and submission of grants to NIH, foundations, and industry partners.

This Section is led by Brendan Parent, Director of SoME within the Division of Health Delivery Sciences in the Department of Population Health. The work of SoME spans ethics and policy research in artificial intelligence in health care, trust and organization of healthcare systems, organ donation and transplantation, compassionate use and expanded access to experimental treatment, reproductive medicine, and vaccines.

The Research Scientist will work closely with SoME faculty, divisional administration, and staff to effectively implement research. This role will serve as a consulting methodologist for the SoME, supporting and leading empirical strategies for research including surveys, interviews and focus groups and secondary data analyses of large, existing datasets. The ideal candidate will bring experience in several methodological approaches – and most importantly, be willing to learn alongside Section faculty and advise based on the state of the science.
