Campus Specific InformationThe Postdoctoral Fellow will join the Institute’s statistical analysis team and will play a key role in building out the data analysis infrastructure of the Institute. The individual in the position will have a Ph.D. in quantitative methods, social sciences (economics, sociology), and/or other relevant disciplines. A strong foundation in quantitative research methods is required as well as experience in using statistical software programs –such as Stata, SAS and R.
The candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to translate research findings for a general audience.
This position is essential for the Institute to continue its timely data analysis in fulfillment of CUNY DSI’s mission of producing, stimulating, and disseminating innovative academic and policy research that contributes to the expansion of knowledge about people of Dominican ancestry. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will bring needed in-house cutting-edge data analysis expertise to CUNY DSI in the field of quantitative studies applied to the social sciences.

- Use Census-based micro-data samples and other survey and administrative data sources to carry out statistical analysis of the socioeconomic, demographic, education, health, labor market and other key issues facing Dominicans in the United States and other countries.
- Conduct research that provides a historical, geographical and comparative analysis of the Dominican diaspora within the context of the various racial and ethnic groups in the U.S. and other countries
- Organize and write research reports and policy briefs based on the statistical analysis and research carried out by DSI.
- Work with other DSI and CUNY researchers and scholars in establishing a rich and productive multidisciplinary, multicultural academic network that emphasizes scientific excellence and critical thinking.
Doctoral Degree in a related field and demonstrated research ability.
CompensationSalary Range: $65,000 - $75,000. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
